Building influential connections for lasting change.

Meet Ashley Tillery: Your compassionate guide to growth.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. My career has been influenced by life's connections to people, places, and things. I married at the young age of 18, which took me to Kansas as a military wife for the next 6.5 years. During that time, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree at Kansas State University.

My next educational goal was to complete my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy through Capella University (MN). My husband left military service, and we returned to WI. To become a Certified Social Worker in WI, I attended Upper Iowa University to complete additional requirements for the WI DSPS.

We settled in southern WI. After having been a childless couple for 12 years due to educational/career goals, we started a family. We have three beautiful children, two boys and one girl. My daughter is in-between the two boys in birth order, and she sure makes it known. She and her younger brother are twins. Balancing life, work, and all our individual roles is TOUGH.

I have worked in many different career fields from the age of 12. I have worked in agriculture, service industry, food industry, hospitality industry and human services industry. I have spent the past 11 years working with adults and families in the human service areas of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, relationship challenges, and various mental health diagnoses.

I will continue to use my time, talents, and education to develop influential connections with others who are on a path of growth, navigating challenges and successes, all in effort to obtain their life's vision and/or goals.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. A relationship that relies on trust, connection, empathy, and mutual respect. It can take time to build the therapeutic relationship. I often describe therapy as a space to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly. Life is challenging, ever changing, and beautiful. Whether life's changes are positive or negative, it influences our mental health, our relationships, and our physical bodies. The therapeutic process happens in session and in your daily life as you build self-awareness and enhance skills to obtain your goal(s).

What you can expect from our first session

My hope is to form a therapeutic relationship that creates the feel of teamwork and empowers the client to address their concerns. Sessions may involve worksheets for additional processing/practice outside of session, infographics, psychoeducation, and the development/enhancement of skills.
